They’re beyond bad

There are a lot of teams that are in turmoil in today’s National Football League.
There is the Cleveland Browns and the situation with Eric Mangini. There is the St. Louis Rams and their struggles. There is the Detroit Lions and their horrid record over the last two and a half seasons. And let us not forget about Jim Zorn and the Washington Redskins. But of all the teams make up the bottom dwellers of NFL, there is one team whose struggles seem to glare more than all others.
That team is the Oakland Raiders. And not only is there play bad on the field, their head coach just can’t seem to behave off of it.
First Oakland Raiders head coach Tom Cable hit one of his assistant coaches, and lucky for him he was not prosecuted. But just when it seemed that the dust had settled around him, Cable found himself in more trouble when one by one woman began making allegations that he beat them.
And all the while NFL commissioner Roger Goodell sits on his hands and does nothing about the situation in Oakland.
Wait, wait, wait. Is this not the same Roger Goodell that suspended Donate Stallworth, Pacman Jones, and Michael Vick for their off field troubles? Why does the same Goodell do nothing about Cable and the situation in Oakland?
I have been trying to figure out an answer to that for some time now. If someone figures out why an NFL head coach, the one figure on any NFL team that should be showing class on and off the field, can be tied to the unlawful actives that Cable has in Oakland, and act in the manner that Cable has, and not be subject to any sort of punishment from the NFL commissioner, when players who act in the same manner are suspended from the League and heavily fined, please let me know. Until then, I guess I can just continue to be baffled by the sad and unfortunate situation of the Oakland Raiders and their troubled head coach Tom Cable.
